President's Message

Hello CALA Members and Business Partners,

Welcome to the new 2026-2027 year for the Calgary Association of Legal Administrators!

To our returning members, thank you for your continued support of CALA.  Your willingness to share your experience and represent your Firms makes CALA the outstanding professional organization that it is.

 To our new members, welcome! We are excited to have you as CALA members. Whether you are just beginning your career in the legal industry or bringing a wealth of experience from elsewhere, you have joined a community that values collaboration, professional growth, and mutual support.

 To our Business Partners - both new and long-standing - thank you for your support. Your involvement not only enhances our programming but plays a vital role in the value we deliver to our members. We are truly grateful for your continued partnership and investment in our shared success.

I would also like to thank those who have served in leadership roles within our Chapter, including our subsection chairs and Board members for their dedication and contributions in advancing CALA’s mission. I look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts in the upcoming year. Welcome to our newest Board members Ron Yaworski as VP Programs and Heidi Doyle as Secretary.  Our subsection chairs are as follows:

1.     Human Resources Co-Chairs: Jamie Schiwy and Erin Skogman

2.     Facilities Co-Chairs: Ron Yaworski and Amanda Noseworthy

3.     IT:  Vanessa Raven

We are looking forward to many exciting networking and educational experiences this year. Flagship events like our annual Stampede Breakfast, Golf Tournament and Holiday Social are back. We’ll also be organizing a full slate of Educational, Social and DEI events for our members and Business Partners. The programming we offer is designed to expand your knowledge and grow your circle of contacts. We encourage you to take advantage of your membership and attend as many CALA events as possible.
